Welcome to my little corner of Amigurumi crochet. My name is Sage, and I’m the designer (and web dev, marketer, accountant, etc) behind Folk & Sundry (previously known as Little Seal Designs). I put so much care into the creation of my patterns, and I hope you love making these new little friends as much as I do.

About Sage

I’m a Canadian girl living in a beautiful valley in the South of Tasmania with my husband, our daughter, and menagerie (horses, dogs, cats, chooks, ducks, and guinea fowl). I live with several severe chronic illnesses, so I take each day one step at a time, and try to do my best with the ability levels each day brings.

I was extremely imaginative as a child, so have paired that with my love of books to bring you the cast of my crochet folk. I design with play-value in mind, making sure things are included that child Sage would’ve approved of.

Folk & Sundry (previously called Little Seal Designs) focuses on crochet for play, bringing you patterns to inspire your imagination, or the imaginations of loved ones. Aspects of playability make their way into every design, whether that’s the toys being able to stand on their own, having semi-poseable limbs, or being customizable to better suit the character you’re creating. The facial features in particular are kept simple to align with Waldorf/Steiner philosophy, leaving space for the imagination to fill in “the blanks.” If you also love(d) stories like Lord of the Rings, Redwall, Warriors, and Narnia, you’ve found your crochet home.
